Literature Text

The person we were endeavoring to miss had, for instance, been a straight A student all her life, had set the bar high in every activity she was involved with, and managed to go even higher, had diligently avoided allowing her illness to infiltrate her work, and had frequently deceived herself and everyone around her in the relentless quest for normalcy. She’d had the disconcerting habit of making references to her illness with the relaxed and blithe disregard for its seriousness. She had downsized it considerably: any headache, from a slight throbbing to a panging migraine, was just dizzying; any nausea, from stomach churning to the uncontrollable vomiting that racked her small frame, was “a little sick”; any pain, from the joint popping to the bone breaking, was a result of “being clumsy”; and any kind of medication, from an advil to the nightly injections, was daily routine. She was selfless: whenever anybody needed help, Amber was the first to leap to their aid, or, at least, do the very best she could given her condition. She was also smart. She referred to books with obvious love that only a reader can, despite her failing eyesight.  She was talented. And she loved to perfect—dance, music, art, cooking, karate,––and to debate like her hero, attorney at law, her grandfather. She was stubborn, and she wouldn’t let any illness get in the way of her dreams to become a public defender of the handicapped community. Amber would show us all, if it was the last thing she did.
She's my best friend dammit

Very interesting and perhaps comes close to being the author or perhaps not. She is an admirable young woman.
